Prior to receiving any source of financial aid, the student is required to:
- Successfully complete academic assessment testing with specific scores to be fiinancial aid eligible if non-high school graduate or GED recipient. Check with Testing or with Financial Aid for the necessary scores.
- Enroll for those classes that apply to a specific program of study leading to a degree or approved certificate.
- Maintain academic satisfactory progress each semester. You are required to complete 2/3 of all courses attempted in a year to maintain progress as well as meet the necessary GPA requirements (see SMCC catalogue).
- Complete program of study within 90 credits (if an A.A.degree).
- Notify the Financial Aid Office and Business Office of withdrawal from classes or from school entirely.
- Repay any debts to the college, to MCCCD or the U.S. Dept. of Education (if withdrawing) and any student loan debts as stated on any loan promissory notes signed by the student.
