Scholarships

How do I apply for campus scholarships at SMCC?

Step 1: SMCC General Scholarship

The scholarship process for 2008-2009 is now closed.  Awards will be determined by mid June and announced after July 1, 2008.

Step 2: Maricopa Community College

The Maricopa Community College Foundation Office also has an early spring application process which is available on-line at:

Step 3: College Departments

Check with college departmental major areas such as Math/Science, Theatre, Music, Art, Communications, etc., as they often have their own departmental scholarships.   The Math/Science dept. currently has a great NSF award students may apply for -- check with Tim Frank, Instructor in that area.

Step 4: External/Private Donors

The following external private donor sites are also highly recommended for awards:

Step 5: Visit the Learning Resource Center

The LRC contains scholarships resource directories of local and national scholarships. Also high school and public libraries are excellent resources for scholarships references and guides.

Step 6: Visit a Bookstore

Depending on your budget, a good investment may be the purchase of scholarship search guides that may be in local bookstores. The ASU Bookstore may also have these guides.
