CONGRATULATIONS!

You are ready to complete your certificate or degree. Commencement is the official ceremony in which the college President confers degrees upon students who have fulfilled their requirements. All those who fulfill degree/certificate qualifications throughout the year will be invited to participate in the ceremony. 

May 2010 Graduation Information

When?  The 2010 Commencement Ceremony will be held Friday, May 14 at 7:30 p.m.

Where? At the South Mountain Community College outdoor Performing Arts Amphitheater. (West side of the Performing Arts Center in the grass area.)

Graduates will meet promptly in the GYM at 6:30 p.m. for line up and instructions. Please do not be late.

The graduation ceremony will be signed for the hearing impaired.

GRADUATION REGALIA (Cap/Gown and Announcements)

Notification regarding commencement is sent out in April to all degree & certificate graduates. Please review this notification carefully. Instructions for cap/gown pick-up as well as graduation announcements will also be explained in the document. 

VALEDICTORIAN

Each year those students who have achieved high excellence may be eligible to be designated a class valedictorian. The following criteria is used for valedictorian recognition at South Mountain Community College:

  • Must have a completed all or most credit hours earned at South Mountain Community College.
  • Must have a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 in all coursework at South Mountain Community College.
  • Must have a graduating grade point average of 4.0.
